Connecting Business Growth to the Digital Employee Experience

Flexible work models are evolving — and so are how businesses view IT investments and digital employee experiences.

IDC’s June 2024 survey found 83% of organizations report very or extremely flexible work policies. IT leaders cite technical (22%), cultural (19%), and security (18%) challenges as key remote work impediments. Still, 43% of IT and LOB leaders see modest productivity gains, and 31% report strong improvements. Challenges include inadequate IT support, complex security protocols, and friction switching apps. A North American employee survey showed 50% feel employers don’t consider their needs with new tech, and 43% find IT support ineffective. These findings don’t mean flexible work fails, but employers must provide better tools and support to help employees focus on productive work.
